Most of us understand the industry and don't expect or need anyone to feel sorry for us.

But that doesn't make a good news story so you don't see many people like me on the 5:00

Filled up at $0.68.9 pg due to some Brookshires points the other day. Competitive food prices and low fuel incentives? Thank you, Texas!

Would 2.50/gas and 70/barrel satisfy everyone? I wouldn't mind that.

Doubtful, these O&G guys are worse than the welfare queens that they hate. Wanting everyone else to foot the bill for their F-250's and truck nuts.

I'm not going to pretend to be sorry that the rest of us aren't being fricking gouged at the pump just because O&G outfits can get away with it.

Just curious, but if you think they were doing it just to gouge you and because they can, why don't they do it again? Surely they'd like to get $4.00/gallon again, right? Shouldn't they just turn change the price to whatever they want?

Not all "Cajuns" rely on O&G to make a living.

ETA: I was at the fact that someone from Acadiana living in NOLA thinks that O&G doesn't affect them.

I'm from Vermilion Parish.

I know most of you guys haven't figured this out yet, but you are allowed to leave the Acadiana area

The state relies on the money as well as extra money that comes along with the O&G industry having a heavy footprint in the state. I bet in the 1980s not everyone relied on the auto industry to make a living in Detroit too. Not everyone in Gary Indiana relied on the steel industry. What's bad for the state is not good for anyone in the state.

I'm just busting balls in this thread, but New Orleans really isn't feeling the pain of this downturn as much as most of the state.

FWIW - I am all for $4.00 gasoline, $100/barrel oil. The story just made me chuckle.

Did California ever solve its water issue? I don't hear about it anymore. Seems like that would be their bigger concern.

I was really hoping you were trolling. Unfortunately I have had conversations with people with the mindset of your posts and laughed in their face.

Let's not forget the one's really suffering here though. Without those AL, MS, and TX boys spending that $$$ the girls at Michael's are the real one's in need. Bless those single mom nursing students.
