Schools were all ready to open in Fall of 2020, but as soon as Trump came out in support of school openings, a shite ton of school districts reversed course.

He also supported another lockdown further down the road. We’ve had this discussion before and I’ve found the post. He just wanted it to be over and he believed lockdowns were the quickest way. He admitted to being naive. Salmon is anything but disingenuous imo.

thats on the district.
Ours wouldn't let the HS mens hockey team play in the State Championship in 2021 and the people loved her, with the exception of HS hockey fans.

She did it because it boosted her image among local authoritarians, not one bit of harm would have come from letting them play.

uh what?

you mean the post where I literally said "I don't want the lockdowns extended" and "I don't trust the government"

and you somehow took me saying "I don't want the lockdowns extended" as me supporting the initial lockdowns

Jesus dude

No. There was a back and forth toward the end of summer 2020 where you were for another lockdown as a spike was happening. You thought it was fine because it would get us out of all restrictions sooner. I found the post/thread the last time we were in the same thread about this. It was a while back.

I didn’t save it and it took me time to look. I’ll have to be bored later. If I find it again I’ll bump this thread.

Posters may have believed that it would only last a few weeks, but that is far from supporting the lockdowns.

Anyone who thought it would last two weeks should probably not admit that out loud. You looked dumb then and even worse now. It was pretty obvious early on that these same politicians who were calling for two weeks were not concerned about catching it themselves considering most of them broke their own lockdown rules.

I said it in the thread just linked. The threshold used to lock down was minimal. There weren’t even 100 confirmed cases in the whole country. Within 72 hours we went from a canceled NBA game to all schools being closed to mayors and governors crawling over each other to shut down for 2 weeks and then months. It was absurd.

And there was no plan to come out of lockdown. No plan or idea to keep things going. It was all knee jerk reactions. Crazy shite.

Here’s where it got fun

People wanted to arrest and sue a guy for leaving his house. This was the mass hysteria taking place even on this site.

A pastor being handcuffed and taken to jail for holding church services.

People being told they could not attend their grandparents’ funerals.

My parents telling me I couldn’t attend family holiday events because I wasn’t vaccinated.

I had to use a fake vaccine pass in order to go about my daily life anywhere except for a grocery store.

Just got to some of my posts.

Boy, did people not want me to tell them to calm the frick down.

I apparently wanted old people to die and I was mad that my shifts would be busy.
