I don’t know much about the guy, but I lived in BR then and the city seemed much safer than it does now.

Someone is going to come in here and talk shite on Jeff but I actually know him. He’s a good dude overall. He’s a politician as is anyone who makes it to that level and that means there will be a contingent who will hate him because of some actual or perceived slight but that’s the way it goes.

100% the most engaging instructor I ever had at any level.

CSB. I was going through the BRPD Academy 100 years ago and he came in to teach a class. He was a Corporal at the time and I had no idea who he was. 10 minutes into his intro he said “I am going to be the first black police chief of BRPD”. I remember thinking “look at the balls on this fricker saying something like that.” Years later I was long gone and off in the world when an old friend told me he was appointed Chief. It ain’t bragging if you can do it I guess.

LeDuff shits all over Murphy Paul. Don’t know much about Morse other than he was a clear last ditch effort by Broome to appease the ruling class of BR. That clearly didn’t work. As someone else said, BR was much better off when he was in charge.

Jeff started the stop and frisk patrols post Katrina. When “The Advocate” shite all over him and Kip for doing so, he told them to F off because he intended to keep the city safe. Some people may not like him, but he is 100% proactive policing. We will get back to the days of activity patrolling and looking for criminals, as opposed to responding to crime and murder scenes.

Sat through one of his trainings about 2 years ago. It was Jeff and his son(I think). Everyone came away very impressed by his training and knowledge but it was the energy he poured into it that really impressed us.

He talked about the current administration and said there was no comparison to when Kip was around. He said to many “handout appointments and jobs” that have only made things worse. I guess all politicians do that though…

He did an Active Shooter workshop at my place of employment a few years back. He had a lot of great info for groups for defense from this scenario. He told us he was a member of a group of retired Chiefs of Police that investigated every mass shooting or maybe school shooting since he retired and he present several points that this group had assimilated from these incidents that would help groupsor individuals in self defense in the event of a wacko shooter on your premise.

He was a very good speaker and presenter. Wish him luck in this new venture.

I know him personally, he’s a great guy. He’s good for the city.

I talked to him not long ago, months before the election. I told him the city was in much better shape under his watch. He told me he’s busy flying around the country doing consulting work.
