Those blue on green attacks have been going on for a long time and not a single one of our men fighting over there trust any of the ANA.

I don’t understand why we are still there. Those people have been fighting forever. We are repeating what the Soviet Union found out the hard way.

I wasn’t aware we went to war with the afghani government or people in general. I was fully aware that we went over there to stomp out terror cells.

And how much would you like to defund the military in your unicorn and fairy land?

There’s zero idealology for the everyday Soldier over there. It’s all about getting your dick wet killing some folks and going home. Rinse and repeat 1-2 years later. Might have changed I was last there in 2013.

Looks like those peace talks with the Taliban are going well.

We have swapped roles with the Soviet Union and what the USA sold weapons to fight against, in an ultimate fit of irony.

The surge was in Iraq and as much as I hate to admit it, Bush was right in authorizing it.

Afghanistan had a similar strategy which had helped things but we are now a few years after the conclusion of that operation.

If we were seriously interested in pacifying Afghanistan, we would occupy every town, city, and hovel for three years until such a time that a real government can set deep roots in their society.

Do you not think that a significant portion of the military consists of a bloated administrative sector?

No, but we found the poppy fields. That was our true objective all along.

I think that is the case but idk why it’s always the military to get cut. Especially when you take into account the fact that 60% of ALL federal spending is spent on handouts like SS and Medicare

But yeah, we should cut the military first, the one thing that our federal government is charged with funding.
