Go to the member list. Type "%" into the search. Sort by most posts. Look for people you recognize that haven't posted in a while. Click on the name to see if they have posted recently. If not they either quit or are banned

There is an option to request reinstatement when you get banned.

It says something like:
"! Your posting privileges have been suspended. click here to request reinstatement"

You have 200 characters or so to plead your case
