I ignored the initial ticket and recently received an ugly letter. Will it bite me in the a$$ if I don’t pay???

I got one while driving my brother's vehicle who lives at a different house. Now he keeps getting the letter for payment.

This was in Baton Rouge?

If so, throw in the trash. You don't have to pay.

But in 2016, just 42.6 percent of people who received the tickets paid them. That number dropped to 38 percent last year, when Arizona-based American Traffic Solutions issued 72,847 first notices of violation. So far this year, only 23.7 percent of people have paid red-light tickets.
sounds like you should ignore it.

I’ve got a few of them. Never paid it. Got lots of letters. Never responded in any way. They stopped. No hit on credit or anything

In Georgia they're civil, not criminal or even a moving violation, so you don't even get points on your license. Not sure about anywhere else. I would check on that if I were you.

Frick that, it probably has coffee grounds on it by now. I don't sweat any letter thats not certified because they can be lost by the postman and I don't go sign for any certified letters because they're never good news. Enjoy being an outlaw
