Yeah... I screwed up on the warranty thing. I should say my Maytag first acted up after 9 months.

I did some kind of reset with the buttons and it was working a bit longer then after the year it went completely out. I should have called when we first had the issue but didn't think much about it after the reset.

The cheap dial control GE is backordered until 12/1. Not sure to go cheap or get the Whirlpool or Bosch.

Also not sure how much the noise will bother me on the cheap. The cabinet back runs along the half wall of the living room so the front of dishwasher faces the opposite way.

Will stuffing the area with extra insulation surrounding the unit help?

CR recommended Best Buy Bosch Ascenta SHX3AR7[5]UC. Performs in the same range as units priced 900 -1200 range.

The [5] indicates SS color. White or black is probably cheaper. You might come away with spending around $500.

Looks like Lowes has it within your budget.

ETA: looks like it’s an order item not in stock and it looks like Best Buy has a better delivery turnaround.

I strongly suggest getting one whose family has a lot of money and her Dad thinks you are an awesome guy.

I would add: Check out what her mom looks like. Good indication of her future looks. And besides, having a MIL that looks nice can tend to balance out the other MIL attributes.

That's almost worth it just to keep an eye on my beer supply, but I keep the beer in an older refrigerator in the garage. My method so far has been successful in that when in doubt, just buy more because it's a regularly consumed item.

Wow... Lowes already fricking with me. Got order confirmation 11/22 delivery. Then I get a 2nd order confirmation that my delivery is 11/24 and charging me $65 for the delivery. I'm less than 5 miles from the nearest Lowes.

I called CS. CS rep sending internal memo to local Lowes to reverse the $65 charge and to confirm if they can honor the original delivery date.

ETA: Local lowes called. Reversing $65 delivery charge and back on for 11/22

Absolutely get one with a stainless steel tub. Some detergents eat away the plastic tub and your left with glasses with what feels like tiny grits of sand stuck to them. It was the plastic from the tub. Took us a year to figure that out.

We have had a Bosch 800 series for a little over a year now. LOVE it. The third drawer for larger utensils and such is great. At 42db you will be glad it has a little red light on the bottom to let you know it's on. WE got the model with the controls on top of the door for a cleaner look. We had a Bosch Ascenta before the flood and loved it as well. This one just has more bells and whistles.

replaced with a Kitchenaid and have had no problems in 2 years. Just as quiet and never have any rejects on dishes.

I’ve had great luck with Kenmore appliances from Sears.

For nicer stuff, Kitchenaid has been great. So quiet I can’t ever tell if it’s running.
