Who would you recommend for auto A/C repair in the Ascension Parish area? I may be looking at replacing the compressor, soon. If you can offer a ballpark figure on how much that costs these days, that would be helpful. Any ideas?

What's wrong with it and why do you think it's the compressor? M/M/Y?

It blows room temperature/warm air. We recently changed the expansion valve and recharged the refrigerant. That got things cooled off for a few days, only to get warm again. Maybe it’s a leak…

It’s a 2013 Nissan Sentra SV.

One might only imagine the fine motorcar we are pondering in this thread.

Go see Mark at University Texaco on Highland. $500-$800.
Until then, keep recharging it with freon from any Oreillys/Autozone. It will stay blowing cold for a couple of days at a time.

If it is cooling then the compressor is working, sounds like you have a leak, and it may be the compressor leaking, compressor and evaporater are the 2 most common culprits, when it is working is there a chemical smell coming out the vents? If no most likely the evaporator, either way it is going to cost 1500-2k to fix…. Keep filling it with coolant and sell the car
Are you sure the expansion valve was installed correctly,

I’m fairly certain the valve was installed properly, yes. I can’t say I’ve noticed any odd smells coming from the vents.
