Looking for a plumber to fix a broken shower handle. Won't shutoff. Took it apart through the wall and it seems to be one unit that is solid with the piping.

We've used B and D plumbing twice and they were great.

If they were so great why'd they have to come twice?

125 the first hour, 85 each additional

seems reasonable, but then ask how long something will take to fix and they can't tell you...which is annoying.

How long to repipe the average shotgun?

How could they tell you how long it would take without looking at the job and having full details? The shower valve is probably between the wall and shower with no external access. Thus, a hole is going to have to be cut. There's no telling what to expect at that point. In that confined space, the old valve is going to have to be sweated out (heat source) and a new one installed. That's a job you can't rush.

Two completely separate unrelated issues that occurred 5 years apart.

Could just be a washer/seat that can be replaced or are you saying it's washer-less?

Sorry for the delayed reply. I went Jazz Festing and then out of town.

I have used Louis Mechanical at my condo in BR. They were nothing but professional.

Edited to add: Don't know anyone who works there.
