You know what won me this one? My son was born in November... this was one of the "let's just do it the easy way" moments with a one-month old.

Have no kids (yet) so I opt for no tree.

Right. Because buying a $45 stick from a parking lot is true sign of wealth.

As a first responder, I think that fake trees are a much safer choice, especially if you have young children. A real tree is incredibly flammable and can engulf a room in smoke and fire in under a minute. It's just not worth the risk when you have loved ones, especially those that are little.

Video of how quickly they can go up in flames.

Thanks, bro. My wife just had a baby shower and I am assembling all kinds of baby toys. This is our third (and final) and with each kid there is more stuff that a baby "needs" No cutting down a tree this year.

And I'm guessing he hasn't priced a fake tree lately.

I'm waiting on those $30 hour Mexicans to go on sale so I can get them to pull mine out of the attic.

Fake trees? Modern technology has made them seem so real...

I am going to keep working it, but it looks like it will be another real tree this year. Maybe we'll order a fake one after Christmas when they are on sale. My wife loves shopping.

Two would've been perfect. However, she told me up front she wanted three. She's been good to me and I enjoy being a Dad most of the time.

First of all, if you decide to buy artificial, the end of November/beginning of December is the absolute worst time to make that purchase. Go real one last time, and get your fake tree when they go on sale closer to Christmas, or after Christmas.

Those lights on a prelit tree will begin to fail after a few years, and you'll be right back to putting strands of lights on your artificial tree. Fake trees also take up a lot of storage space.
