There are positive influences all around them. You think they don't know about black men and women who rise above shite circumstances to become dentists, doctors, lawyers, or engineers?
They choose to ignore it because they don't believe it can happen for them or it's too hard. So, they choose the easier path.
Their pasts do not justify murder.
You can have all the programs in place to help them, but you can't make them want to change.

Of course not but clearly whatever is being done now isn't working. These kids aren't going to magically start deciding that they are going to focus on school and leave the other shite behind. It would be nice if it worked like that but it just doesn't.
