Been here my entire life and never heard of Warren Montgomery until he ran for office.

So someone's merit is based on whether you've heard of them or not? The guy is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who transitioned into private practice and business.

Truth is, he is a career defense lawyer
No, he isn't.

I have yet to meet one person who has ever seen him in court.
I don't think you understand the role of the Parish District Attorney. Hint: they don't try cases very often, or at least they have the option not to.

Idiots like CCST pushed him
Anyone with a functioning brain would prefer him over the alternative (who is a nice enough guy but way too entrenched with power monger types, many who are now in prison or likely soon will be). As much as they puff, ccst doesn't have nearly the stroke to influence an election like that, it was The People tired of the corrupt laughingstock shite.

How many were later found guilty of various crimes?

I stand corrected as far as what happened. However, the first part is firsthand knowledge. Not from a defense attorney.

Wait a minute. He stood at Libertos passenger side window and shot him multiple times? Why would he let a suspect stand outside of his window and shoot him multiple times?

The Policeman’s car just spun out into the median/ditch area albeit a wreck from the high speed chase.

As others have said, he shot Capt. Liberto at close range while the officer was still in his car. The other officer, in another car, began firing and the POS shot at that officer as he was running. The shot hit the second officer in the head but, thankfully, just grazed him.

Don’t believe anyone who try’s to say the killing of Capt. Liberto was anything other than the intentional murder of a police officer.

I know because I am related, indirectly, to the second officer.

To be specific for those who don’t know. The chasing officer and the suspect engaged in shots back and forth in the final moment of the car chase before both crashed out. The suspect jumped out and started to run. Vinny, unaware that shots had been fired, attempted to cut the running suspect off with his car by driving into the ditch just in front of him. At that time, the suspect began firing through the passengers side window without hesitation striking Capt. Liberto multiple times. Not that it matters but I don’t want there to be any confusion regarding this guy and his intent to kill. He may have been a good kid at one time but he is now and forever a piece of shite who killed one officer and shot another to attempt to escape arrest. There is no sympathy to be given to him.

If you want to be sick to your stomach go read some of the comments on the local news FB pages regarding this.

Last I heard, the stoppage to executions wasn’t due to the state’s unwillingness to do it as much as an inability to obtain the proper drugs to do lethal injection.

Sounds like it is time for the legislature to bring in hanging or firing squad, both of which are used in other jurisdictions.

Just remember, anyone charged with first degree murder in LA will eventually end up with a public defender or a capital case certified attorney. Our tax dollars will pay for mitigation experts, his defense , his experts, etc. Our tax dollars go to defending him. Food for thought.
