Also, while CE doesn't make as much straight out of school, a PE usually means a considerable pay raise that evens it out with a lot of other disciplines

How the frick would someone competently do this unless they actually went through each and every curriculum?

Not to mention, the first two years for all engineering majors are basically the same classes and that's when most of the weeding out occurs.

And thirdly, it probably varies from school to school and which classes you take.

I never even heard of biological engineering. I'm old.

Industrial is the easiest. Civil is probably the second easiest. The rest are debateable, but ChE and EE have to be up there.

You left out Computer and Nuclear. But that aside, anyone who successfully graduated from an accredited university with an engineering degree could have majored in any of the disciplines. It's really just a matter of personal choice/interest.

The basic math/engineering courses were the 'weeding out' classes. Once you made it past those, you were prepared for the specialized engineering courses, regardless of your major.

A lot of times, this is true sadly.

I saw some guy walking around the other day with a shirt that said "Engineering... a real major"

I felt embarassed for him and I'm an engineer.

Civil can vary quite a bit. If you're doing construction management emphasis you're borderline getting a CSM degree. However, I know some who were doing structural emphasis and when they started getting into the 400 level indeterminite analysis shite it looked pretty tough.

CE still thoughest, that's why we make bank

I'm in Mechanical and if I'd take a stab at this I'd probably say

Chemical Engineering
Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/Petroleum Engineering
Civil Engineering
Industrial Engineering

Haven't got a clue what Biological Engineering's class load is. I know Biosystems Engineering isn't that bad compared to the others.

Yeah, we kind of are. We take a whole hell of a lot of pride in our major but there a lot of people out there in engineering that pretty much think if you aren't in a math or science discipline your college education is worthless.

depends what you're better at

Yep, electrical would be very difficult for quite a few engineers in other disciplines, and vice versa.

I'd also not pick a discipline based off of 'easiness' defined by the OT at 10pm on a sunday

That'd be depressing to go back to school for an engineering degree after working your arse off trying to get in med school
