Yep. Sunshine Super Stop Truck Stop. Enter 12091 LA-70, Convent, LA 70723 into Google Maps. Scroll down on the left panel until you get to photos, then select Inside. Look above the counter on the right side.

Not my photo, and I couldn't get the image to imbed, but it's there. What I remember is that they bought all of the FT labelled cups, etc., along with the recipe. Now that was 20-30 years ago. But the image is from two years ago, so who knows?

Only game I remember all of us leaving early was 2010 or 2012 Tenner when T-Bob snapped it over JJ’s head.

Needless to say, Dad and I looked pretty dumb when we saw two guys jumping outside of the stadium and asked what happened, to then hear the roar of the stadium not even 3 seconds later.

What happened was, Miles was to stupid to call a TO and TBOB had to snap that ball with JJ still pondering whatever it was he did think about and snapping that ball won us that game and fricked us for several more Miles seasons...

Was the serial killer capital of the world in the 90s

You used to could go catch a 3-5 pound bass every few cast on a decent day on LSU lake

Had a famous black panther riot in the 70s in which police chief was killed

The traffic has been terrible for 50 years

All lights down Florida Blvd used to be synched at 45 mph. There were signs notifying drivers of this on every light. At that speed you would not catch 1 red light all the way from downtown to Denham. Why, with the technology, today can they not accomplish this on every major road is beyond me?

Baton Rouge now synchronizes the lights to make sure every person has to stop at every one

Nola was rated the best tasting tap water in the country
Uh, no.
A family friend was an expert in water purity with the federal government and declared it unhealthy. He had booked a room at a local hotel downtown but stayed with us to avoid the press. Was pretty funny. There was howling for days.
He was also why I did not drink from hoses, but would remove them and only drink from the faucet.

The Mighty Mouse at fun fair park

There used to be a hidden network or interstate ponds we would swim in the 70s, they had swing ropes etc. Some were also full of alligators. You had to
do a quick check for gators before you let go of rope.

They never fricked with us we didn’t frick with them

The old Cotton Club on Highland used to let you run a tab and pay it at the end of the week. If they really knew you, the end of the month!
That was the Constantino's. Always liked them. One of the sons was injured at Waco, but mostly recovered.
Also was where Gary P. got the info on the incoming flight to make his famous shot at the airport.

The amount of puke that place caused was legendary. We went at 16.

Driving back down LA1, we go through a checkpoint, as the cop is talking to me a buddy starrts HURLING pretzels and beer out the window. Just violent. Can't stop.

Cop looks at him. Looks at me. Looks back at him. Looks at the other 8 people crammed into this cherokee....

And just sternly says: get them all home safe.

Simpler times.

There was a Pedro's Taco on Highland across from Der Weinerschnitzel (or thereabouts). It could have been a Taco Bell after they shut down.

There used to be a place called Round The Corner where you'd order food from a red telephone mounted to the wall at your table.
