That would require an entire drivetrain to be added. How much redundancy do you want? Can you switch your truck over to battery power now?
They already make vehicles that switch between electric and gas. It isn’t something novel. For whatever reason, they decided not to do it on this truck, which is stupid. 690 miles (under perfect conditions) isn’t going to cut it. It’s a start, but not close to good enough to replace gas.

You have no fricking clue what you are asking for. You want a BEV with a gen set and an engine large enough to run the truck. So on top of a full sized engine you have to have a transmission, differentials, effectively a transfer case or two, along with all the various subsystems to run them. It would be the dumbest thing since Homer Simpson designed a car. A highly complex, expensive, and heavy vehicle designed to cover some very rare use cases.
It is already in the neighborhood of the range of a 1/2 ton truck today and the number of people that drive 600 miles in a day routinely is vanishingly small. I am not saying nobody ever drives over 600 miles without stopping to eat but it is unusual. With a 30 minute stop where there is charging you could get 900 miles or more. That is just so far to the edge of the bell curve for most use cases it isn't worth discussing. Someone that drives that much in a day routinely (several times a month) is likely not considering this vehicle. Keep in mind the average driver drives around 40 miles a day.

I want to see that motor in the Wrangler Unlimited.

The 5.7
Never understood why they didn’t offer the 5.7 Hemi in the keep. Would have been the perfect option for those that didn’t care for the V6.

I'm waiting for the new mid-size truck reveal.

The V6 doesn’t turn the wheels—instead, it acts like a power station, generating electricity for the motors. Ram says this setup offers 690 miles of total range, 663 horsepower, and 615 lb.-ft. of torque, with a 0–60 mph time of 4.4 seconds.
This is really cool to me.

Sounds like a bunch of shite that can break and will need to be serviced a lot.
