Do you get all upset when they get hit crossing the road or fried on electric lines?
Yes.

If you wouldn’t let one hang out in your house why would they let one stay on the boat when they were trying to fish?

I would have gone back. And I wish a nice one would come hang out in my house.

try a couple hours. These guys weren’t out on the lake.

Then you’d need to refuel at several hundred dollars. For a pest that’s likely to be killed in any number of ways.

Just think, it probably Fed a shark or something, so, circle of life.

Would you pay $600 to save a raccoon’s life for a short while?

I see coons swimming in the marsh around Cocodrie. Jumped in my boat one morning to continue shrimping and one was in the back of my boat eating shrimp and fish cull out of my shrimp net. I thought "No Problem" and yelled at it to scram. Damn thing stood up, arched its back, and started hissing which was a shock. Had to get a wooden pole to poke the thing with to make it jump out of the boat. That thing was ready to kick my azz.

Would you hire a PI attorney that thinks $600 is a lot of money?

If the only 2 options are shooting it and what they did, yea I'd rather them shoot it.

Nothing like making an animal exhaust itself to the point of drowning while me and my drunk friends celebrate like idiots

Raccoons aren’t nice animals unless you can raise it from a baby. And it’s still a wild animal. They very often carry diseases and would kill your pet

We had a raccoon with a bad eye that would always come up to the rig floor on a rig I was working on in Colorado. We went to make a connection and that fricker was up in the derrick on the monkey board and wouldn't let the derrick man off the ladder. We had to send a couple of guys up with a sack to catch it and we sent it down on the elevators. The motorman took it down the mountain, across the Colorado river and like 10 miles down the road. 3 days later we are sitting in the driller's cabin and that damn raccoon comes walking up the stairs alongside the V door.

I’m not basing my judgment on the fact that the guy is a douchebag attorney. That shouldn’t have bearing on whether or not it was “right” to shoo it off the boat.

What if it was a big rat? Or a snake?

You cry over murderers being locked up at Angola and making nice rocking chairs but like murdering small animals on your own time.

I agree

But the point I'm trying to make is that under no circumstances do you just let a live raccoon hang out on the boat with you while you're miles/hours from land.

Someone will get scratched or bit

I absolutely do not agree with having it exhaust itself in the water and die while taunting it. They should have used the gaff and killed it in the water IMO

No, i’m Pointing out the hypocrisy of what animals people lose their mind over dying versus all the rest that no one seems to care about.

If I put a trap out for a coon would that be “evil”?

I hope you don’t ever kill any animals. You must be vegan, right?

Never killed any mice or rats or snakes or anything like that?

His constant need to remind us that the world is cruel and full of evil and vile and whatever other words to describe shitty things is exhausting

Never. They are all God's creatures. Just like the good men making ship in a bottles at Angola.

Leghold trap is way more cruel to a raccoon than it drowning but it's the preferred method of trapping them. LINK

What is wrong with you people? It jumped in the water on its own. Now you want them to stab the animal with a gaff hook? I mean the blood would probably attract sharks faster.

You people would lose your shite if they had started wailing on it with a gaff hook which would have likely only injured it.

And then you’d have said how cruel it was.
