Looking at several pair online. How is the fit? Can I order my normal shoe size?
I can't remember for sure, but I think I ended up going with a half-size smaller that my usual.

I've owned several pair and loved them. I will strongly echo the comment about getting the classic boot rather than their new comfort boot.
As far as skins, my opinion is that ostrich is the most comfortable by far. i've had gator and lizard and both don't stretch like ostrich. I have never had elephant.
However, my favorite boot is their goat skinned roper. Its the most comfortable boot for the money and I used to wear mine every day. I think they run $300-$350 .... and have enough room for 2 resoles.
As other have mentioned, you should go try them on - especially if you are looking at buying some skins. There are many toe styles to choose from as well.
All of mine have fit true to size.
Good luck!

wear a smaller size in lucchese than other boots but I wouldn't buy them without trying them on
You wear what, 6-1/2, 7 narrow?

FIT is tight but loosens
Can't order your shoe size. I wouldn't drop $1000 on a pair of boots unless you try them on
And definitely get gator skin

I had a pair and returned them. Ran big. I liked them, but then I discovered Tecova.
Dollar for dollar, Tecova makes an excellent boot, eliminates the middle man, charges no tax and free shipping back and forth.

Go try them on. My feet are slightly different sizes, but I can only feel the difference in more expensive shoes. And my Lucchese boots were the first time I noticed this. Their sizing is more precise than a cheap pair of boots.

Nice. I've been pondering elephant skin for a while. They look great, are durable, and I really want to go up to Bama with them and tell my in-laws I had Big Al skinned and made into boots.

I wear a 12 in all shoes other than cowboy boots.
I find that these fit me best in 11-11.5. If they're even a little loose, they'll get 'run over' looking as if your foot is going to bust out of one side.
BTW...my foot is narrow.
If you're paying Lucchese prices, you need to go try them on.

Closest dealer is 1+ hour away. I guess I could roll up there.
You guess? You're about to drop a grand on a pair of boots and can't be bothered to drive an hour to make sure you get the right fit?

Wearing a pair now. They fit exact same to Lucchese and are comfortable as any boot I've worn right out of the box. Do recommend

I'm not an expert when it comes to boots, but after wearing my Tecova boots for a while now, I think I would be hard pressed to find a more comfortable boot.

I got Texas made, in my size, antelope. They're the best Gdamn boots I've ever owned

I bought this pair for work after the sole on my Lucchese daily wears wore down for the 2nd time in <1 year. Only had these for a few months but damn are they comfortable. Same style and material as the Lucchese but might be more comfortable.
Now my Lucchese full quill ostrich can not be beat. Been thinking of trying a pair of Tecova camans but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Come to think of it, I have too many boots. Probably 4 pairs in my closet that I haven't worn in years. Got 2 pairs that are so comfortable that I don't even think about wearing the others any more.
