No hard feelings Artie. If I bring it to the OT I can hack it. Maybe save some young (or old) idealist some hurt through the harsh reality.

I'm finally finally bouncing back to where I was.

I need to go on that Divorce diet again though.

And I agree, if another attorney would get involved then it would certainly take a turn. But that's not happening in this situation thankfully, and all parties are on the same page (guess I'm including my situation in this as well)

I did it without even being in he US. Emailed in my disclosure filings and waited for the lawyers to negotiate it and the judge to sign off on the final agreement.

Ain't that the truth. It's "I like you! I love you! I'll live with you! I'm leaving you!"

she is wondering what questions they will ask her during this hearing. I will be going through the exact same process soon, and I guess I'm curious.

If the other spouse filed and has a lawyer, that lawyer will ask his/her client the important questions like date of marriage, date of living separate and apart and whether not they couple has reconciled. That makes the case for the judge. The judge then may ask the unrepresented spouse if the responses were correct or simply ask those same questions: date of living separate and apart and reconcile or not. That's all I ever see.

They want testimony that the parties got married on x date, separated on y date, filed on z date, etc. They will want testimony that the parties have lived separate and apart and want a divorce.

Call ahead to make sure you don't need witness testimony. Some smaller /rural parishes require

It will be in Baton Rouge, but I'll definitely pass this on and ask for myself as well.

Thank you

I thought it was bad. I got into some real deep dark places at times. But I had resolved to pull myself out. Lost a ton of weight. Started getting confidence back. Trying to raise an infant isn't easy on a dude but I did okay. Divorce is hard, especially when it involves infidelity. It leaves you with so many questions, saps your ego, messes with your head something fierce. I thought that was hard.

Then in the space of a week I lost my job and my brother died and all of a sudden all those divorce feelings and the rest didn't matter. It brought things into perspective.

Divorce ain't so bad. At least they're still around. It ain't even a real goodbye 'til you lay someone in the ground.

Took 2 pages for an idiot response from the OT. I'm actually impressed.

Mine went through so smoothly we never even had to see the inside of a courthouse. We met with my lawyer, came to an agreement, signed the papers. Then later on signed some more papers. I came out smelling like a rose. Cost me a grand total of $350.00. 50/50 custody. The house. The car. No alimony. No Child support.

Attorney was a family member, so we only paid filing fees and court cost. Aside from that, this is exactly the details of my divorce. I feel bad for the poor SOB's that get dragged through the coals......

For sure. A clean (well, clean as it can be with kids) break goes a Long way to assuage the bitterness.

The judge will ask if either party was into kinky stuff in the bedroom. ANSWER NO! If you say yes it will just lead to a million more questions. I don't even think it has anything to do with the divorce, he seems to be genuinely curious.
