Like most fathers I want my kids to have enough back bone to honor their word. A little integrity goes a long way.

I imagine your father would be terribly disappointed.

I'm gonna go with yes.

f so, if you have a gay child or a child who comes home to tell you they are getting married to someone who is a different race, will you not accept them, even if they are truly happy with someone of the same sex or different race?
I'd say that's cool, wanna grab a beer...

For those of you who hate having "diversity" shoved down your throats (see diversity thread), what would you do in a the situation in which your child would come home with someone you don't approve of?
I don't notice all the diversity stuff people lose their minds about and would never disapprove of anyone my child brings home solely based on their race or gender.

why does it always feel like your insults are so personal?

I think it’s kind of the style i’ve Developed? You complain that I used the same insults so I feel I always have to push the envelope in order to deliver the level of derision you deserve.

Just absolute hyperbole...facts taken to the extreme.

Like your legs looking like knobby, gnarled branches with an unused shoe at the end.

You grow more monstrous by the day in this thing I created...now you are basically this

It's good to teach your kids to honor their word.

If my dad was around and I told him that I didn't honor a bet I made with someone on a message board and now everyone hates me (even more) and thinks I lack integrity.. He would probably laugh and tell me something like "who are the people who take having integrity on a message board so serious? Maybe you should not post on a message board with losers".

One of the many reasons my kids are in public school, is that I want them to appreciate different races, cultures, and people.

I want them to be happy, healthy, and self-sufficent. If they want to marry someone who makes them happy, then perfect.

I'm not reading that whole diversity thread. I think there are too many people in this country, who make money off of selling diversity. Especially when that diversity seems to not include white men. True diversity is a great thing and something we should all want. True diversity means hiring the best person regardless of skin color, gender, orientation, etc. What most diversity pimps want, is not that.

I’d rather them be fulfilled. Happiness is a fleeting thing and it’s not there all the time. But you can always find fulfillment if you’ve got your life set up correctly and are chasing goals. Of course, I would want them to be happy, but happiness isn’t a permanent thing.

If they’re an adult, I may not approve of their choices, but I cannot live their life for them.

Back to your happiness question, aren’t there many studies out there that show homosexual people to be less happy in general when compared to the heterosexual majority?

I want to have blonde haired, green eyed grandchildren like my little girl. Does that make me a racist?
