I highly doubt he had a gun.
The store surveillance video shows the cop who shot AS reaching into AS's pocket after the shooting with an empty hand then pulling out a small revolver.
Don't know if AS got a shot off or not, impossible to determine from the video.
Whenever the announcement is made I hope the investigators show how they arrived at their decision, step by step, with all evidence clearly shown and explained.
yeah I don't think him having a gun is going to stop the outcry. I am not saying that is right or wrong. I am just talking about the irrational mass.
Best case scenario for all is AS has gun powder on right hand, and a self inflicted bullet hole in leg.
If that is the case - why this wasn't pointed out months ago is politics. Heck it is politics anyway.

Man you are dumb. Evidence is never officially released during ANY investigation.

Word is that Sterling had a .38 that went off in his pocket while he was trying to draw on the BRPD officers, and shot himself in the leg.
they shouldn't have been messing with that dude...he wasn't hurting nobody. Just because he had a long rap sheet and may have been carrying a gun and resisting arrest they should have left him alone

They will believe the cops shot him with his .38 after killing him to cover their arse
I actually had someone say "them pigs planted it on him"
How asinine can someone be? How can you hate your own community so much to the point of making up lies to plant on people that are here literally to protect you...

It is obvious the investigation and decision to prosecute did not take as long as it is for them to announce results.

hmm a large man with a long rap sheet loitering your store and brandishing a weapon, which he wasn't supposed to have cuz he's a felon. I think I'd just let him be too...

Is this a fact? Was this the 911 call. Not sure this is a fact.

Cops were right to purse, and subdue. I think it is likely they did the right thing. My guess is the DOJ wont say that and will say they had no chargeable actions.

Dr. shite-Stirrer should be arrested now for inciting a riot:
quote:
LA Rev Stat § 14:329.2
§329.2. Inciting to riot
Inciting to riot is the endeavor by any person to incite or procure any other person to create or participate in a riot.

Going for a gun in your pocket negates your civil right to not be shot by the cops.
And the fact that he was a felon means he wasn't allowed to carry to begin with, AND the fact that this was the second time he had done this little drugged up, gun in my my pocket, wrestling match with the cops in 2 years, means he ran out of chances to keep walking around selling pirated cd's with a bonus inside the cover ..great American.

I answered the OP as to how I think a protester would answer
Posted on 5/1/17 at 8:58 am to LSUAlum2001
Well I'm pretty sure strong safety and tangerine will be protesting

Then all should be fine; NBR is full of law-abiding citizens. Besides, Broome has indicated she does not anticipate anything getting out of hand..just peaceful demonstrations.

Hopefully she's not only compassionate for the rioters but smart too like the Baltimore mayor and she tells the cops to stand down and give the rioters their space. A mayor wouldn't want to go upsetting her constituency by quelling their rioting.

Marcelle said that government leaders should be held accountable, but asked protesters to be respectful to law enforcement officers and to pray for them and all of Baton Rouge.
What accountability should the government leaders be held to?
These same people wanted an outside source to investigate this incident and that is exactly what took place.
quote:
“It is no time for us to point fingers at one another,” Marcelle said. “It is a time for us to unify and get justice. We need justice.
What justice Marcelle? If the officers were said to have handle the situation of AS correctly and it's handed down as an justifiable shooting then isn't that justice Marcelle?
quote:
“If this decision is not in our favor, do we protest, boycott or riot?” Mitchell said. “Do we empower, educate, think for ourselves, ignore social media mess makers and outside agitators? Seek justice and work on systematic change for our brothers? I don’t know the answer, but I know who holds the power. God holds the power and that power is in each one of us.”
Again here come the lets toss out God to hide behind as we protest for a career criminal. What do you mean by in "YOUR" favor? You mean if justice isn't how you define it inside of your mind and not the law of the land?
I'm surprised that Gravy wasn't there.

Yes! Good times. Half the fun was people trying to figure out what "OT", "baw", and "Chicken" was referring to.
