I wish I could go back and rewatch the Sopranos for the first time again.

You won’t be. If you don’t want to be anywhere charlatans and grifters are communicating with people, then I’d stay away.

Ive never been impressed by these seminar type mediums that meet with large groups. The ones ive met with in private and dont advertise their gift are far more interesting. With regards to this subject overall...if you have fear and anxiety about it ....probably best to stay away. Its kinda like the Degobah hole in Empire Strikes Back.......when Luke asks Yoda whats in there...only what you take with you. If you bring fear and negative emotions into these kinds of encounters...it can act like a beacon for shite you dont want to mess with.

I agree… but if you think you’re strong in your faith, and that gives you the checkmark to go, you’re not strong in your faith. Being strong in your faith compels you to say no I will not go.

I think this is spot on!

I'm torn. I feel strong enough in my faith that I'm protected, but I really don't want to be anywhere evil spirits are actively communicating with people around me.

There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass[a] through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
I think your instructions are pretty clear. You just have to decide what you really believe.

As a Christian do you think God wants you there?

I’ll give you a “sorta-non-bible-thumping-ish” reason to stay away from this.
As a Christian, you know that God is a God of both order and goodness (He demonstrates this in Genesis when He literally organizes existence and declares that ordered state to be “good”).
By definition, this means any physical or metaphysical phenomenon outside of what God creates/blesses/supports is disordered and not-good.
If it’s disordered, it’s chaotic and unpredictable. So you really have no idea what might happen if you interact with people doing this stuff. It’s not like you can just stand in the back and “be safe” because of your faith. You’re flying in a 777 filled with monkeys who are banging away at controls, buttons and levers, ripping panels off and flinging them around the cockpit and cabin. You have no idea what’s going to happen because they don’t know what they’re doing.
What you do know is that whatever happens will be spiritually chaotic and random. Maybe nothing happens. Maybe everyone who shows up to this thing is cursed for seven generations then dies a horrible death next week. Literally no upside. Don’t go.
