Question about fentanol?

Was watching an episode of Live PD and they came across a substance they thought may be fentanol. The cops wouldn't touch it without gloves. Said it could kill you with the quickness.
I have no knowledge of this drug. True paranoia or hyperbole from cops?

Fetanyl is an awesome drug under the right conditions... Rapid onset, short half life drug used for medical procedures... But at your house, it's terrible..

Fentanyl probably wouldn't kill you... unless you got butt arse nekkid and rolled around in enough of it...

It's become so big that they are now giving K-9 units doses of narcan on them in the event they accidentally sniff some of it. It's fentanyl FYI

normally powder, but it can be dissolved in a liquid and remain stable...
as far as the patches, hard core addicts will scrape that gel off, put it in some water in a baby food jar, then put that on top of a light bulb for a while to dissolve the fentanyl out of the gel... then pour out the liquid, separate the gel out of it, and shoot up the liquid...
crazy as frick, but hey, you gotta get your fix i guess....

And I can promise you they are a bit hyperbolic.... the stuff they are encountering isn't even close to pure fentanyl.

I think most people confuse it with carfentanyl.
