Anyone know if changes can be made to it? Got in a wreck, got it completetly fixed but now it has a “structural” damage listed.

Was told by dealership that I tried to trade in at that it can be changed so I can get higher trade in value.

If it could be changed, why wouldn't they just buy it at a lower price from you, and change it themselves? Why wouldn't they be buying up salvaged vehicles, changing the info, and selling those?

That’s the whole point of carfax. It doesn’t matter that you fixed it, the car suffered structural damage. You want to try to get that changed? What a piece of trash

Ur a bytch for calling me names on an anonymous forum...soooo.

The salesman told me it can be changed through Carfax after inspection at one of their mechanic shops but everything that I’ve read says that it can not.

Asked for advice not judgement you misereable pricks.

CarFax is a vehicle history report. If something happened to your car, I.e. an accident with structural damage, and your insurance co reported it, they would need to send a statement that the structural damage never occurred. Mileage discrepancies are easier to fix, sometimes digits get transposed, but rarely do damages change...

A Bytch? Here’s your advice, stop trying to be trashy and sell someone a car that has structural damage by hiding it.

Carfax was supposed to bring people together, not tear them apart like this.

It can be changed by what they call a data research request. You will need supporting documentation, the repair order when it was fixed to be sure there was no structural damage.

How am I trying to hide it when the person I’m selling it to recommended it?

You’re a salty arse person who finds joy in being misereable.

Thank you all who gave advice.

I thought the whole point of carfax was to record incidents, not an inspection rating system.

Laughable how many people think Carfax is a reputable system.

So much gets missed and misreported.
