Was there damage to the frame of the car caused by the accident?

I had to have one changed based on a misrepresentation about airbag deployment on a Hummer years ago, and it was a pain in the arse. They wanted an inspection, an affidavit, and other shite before they would make the change. It took awhile too.

The proper recourse would have been a diminution of value claim, if it was available. Hoodwinking your future buyer is not the way.

If any structure of the car was damaged, Carfax has the correct info listed.

It can, but it is a pain in the arse. I had almost given up when carfax finally agreed to change it.

At first, I shite you not that they asked for an affidavit from the cop who had written the accident report 2 years earlier.

I had already sent them the body shop invoice, pictures, etc, which should have shown that the bags were intact after the accident, but they wanted more.

It seemed like a lot of people (prolly a bunch of used car dealers) had tried to take advantage of the system in the past, because they made it very very difficult.

It sounds like you did have some structural damage though. Am I speculating incorrectly?

Give me the specifics and location, and I might be able to have someone buy your vehicle without doxxing myself. However, we're going to pull a carfax and offer accordingly, just like the dealership that you're currently dealing.

Carfax has done an amazing job at marketing themselves. You have to understand that their buyer will likely be provided with a carfax, and their buyer is not going to be willing to pay as much for one with previous structural damage. A lot of dealers will just wholesale this type of vehicle, so they can't give you more than a wholesaler will give them.

Have you tried to get together with your adjuster or bodyshop to get pictures of the damage. It might help the dealer offer a little more if they can see.

I think that you will just be eating this one. Next time, if it's not your fault, remember to go after the insurance company for dv to cover this exact type of loss.
