In terms of foreign policy, Putin's regime has taken measures to advance or protect Russian interests without apology. He has basically taken the U.S. model minus the whole nation building part and applied it Russia. Of course, we hate him for doing basically what we do.

Domestically, he has done a lot of good in Russia. Granted, when you compare United Russia (his party) to other options, they are far and away the most moderate. Understand that the second most popular political party in Russia (with about 20% support) is the communist party from the USSR. The fourth most popular in the last election cycle were the Liberal-Democrats which, despite their name, is one of the furthermost right parties in the world. Their platform consist of nuking Japan, making it illegal for women to do most things in society, and reestablish the borders of the old Russian Empire (not the USSR, the Czar's Empire). I'm not kidding.

When he came on the scene in 1999 he inherited a Russia that was close to insolvency and made a lot of economic moves to reestablish them as an economic power in the world. For the most part, the Russian people support him. Their political culture is much different the U.S. They don't put a lot of value on civil rights and are more interested in hegemonic power.

Now, is he a moral leader? No. He definitely acts like a tyrant from time to time. That said, he hadn't killed or disposed of other global leaders in the last two decades where the U.S. has openly killed or disposed two and has used its influence or allies to dispose of others.

Is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY we could manage to have the admins actually keep politics on the...ya know...POLITICAL FORUM?

I get it...I really do. But for frick's sake, are some of you guys not tired of constantly being surrounded by political bullshite at every turn that there needs to be an attempt to bring it into every forum?
