I recall that most applauded Honore.

quote:

“Put those damn weapons down. I’m not going to tell you again, goddamn it. Get those goddamn weapons down.” That was the first command of one of Louisiana’s most revered figures, General Russell Honore, when he arrived in New Orleans in 2005 to direct the military recovery after Hurricane Katrina. The General’s directions have not been followed in Baton Rouge.

Since the police killing of Alton Sterling, thousands of people in Baton Rouge have been non-violently protesting day and night all over the city. There has been no arson in Baton Rouge, no looting, no burning cars, no windows broken, and no people beaten.

Police report that a rock or other material was thrown at them but there is no video of such action nor have there been any arrests for such actions. Despite these non-violent protests, around 200 people have been arrested and the police have shown a militarized and aggressive response.

Thoughts?

You're right. There were reports of marauding mirderous gangs and babies being raped in NOLA, that morans believed.

There was however one confirmed report of a frozen water bottle being thrown in BRLA. Shoot, the response to the wannabe flag burner at LSU was almost as "violent".

He overstated his own importance.

Things were already improving before he showed up.

I wasn't too impressed with anyone's leadership, but he sucked less than most.

He also never met a camera he didn't like.

and the other has protestors that are willfully and repeatedly breaking the law with the appropriate police responses. Sorry that your BLM butt buddies didn't get to shut down the interstate and get their 5 minutes of fame so they could get their George Soros blood $$$.

For the umpteenth time, non-violent =/= not breaking the law.

There's been no looting or burning BECAUSE of that strong police response. If they had followed Ferguson and baltimores police response, the results would be different. It's not that protesters (specifically the out of towners) didn't WANT to disrupt and destroy, it's that they WEREN'T ALLOWED TO.

That was before he sold out to environmentalists and started making a fool of himself by parroting the ridiculous talking points they feed him.

Now everyone pretty much sees him for what he is, a showman.

Agree. I wonder what the sentences will be. Fines or charges dropped. But I agree.

He's my old commander, better than most, but he might be a bit much for civilians sometimes.

Not sure, but people would do well to understand their rights. A non-violent protest can still break plenty of laws and should be handled accordingly.

Before he said that there were 75 solidiers acting like they were patrolling Bagdad. The people on the city after Katrina weren't cursing and threatening the soldiers.

Two situations aren't comparable.

You really think only one bottle was thrown? I can assure you much more than a single frozen bottle was thrown.

So what are your thoughts on the Black Panthers marching and blocking the street with the protesters while armed with and displaying firearms?

Sometimes I wonder if I should give you the benefit of the doubt on this kind of thing.
