My kid had a great idea. Make your phone the car's key. It has to be locked out of site for the car to run/drive.
They’ll just use a burner phone like my students when I collect them

Here in La. it is now, as of Aug. 1, illegal to drive while holding a phone, regardless of what the driver is doing with it. As of Jan. 1, the fines will increase significantly, though a heavy fine is already in effect for using in either a school or construction zone. At a red light or parked, it is still legal to hold & use a phone.

There are probably 10 times as many people killed by distracted drivers than drunk drivers.
Freaking Bimbo's can't go 2 minutes without checking their social media and/or texts.
I just don't get it

Using the phone while driving is an acquired skill, it’s genuinely not that hard if you have the phone at steering wheel level so it’s easy to glance between. She had her phone in her lap like an absolute buffoon, now you can’t glance, you have to move your entire head back up to road level. Some people just don’t have it.

How much is insurance charging to people who rent their cars out?

One could argue you were just as distracted as she was.
Nah, my son was in the passenger seat next to me and I couldn’t pass her. So I was waiting to lay on the horn if she was going to swerve into me. Have to be aware of your surroundings.

What a dumb bitch. I don’t feel bad for her at all and I wish she would have gotten some injuries. And at the end, she immediately goes back for the phone, likely to finish whatever she was doing on it, seconds after crashing. What a complete dumb bitch. It’s mad even worse because she likely knows she’s being monitored.
Women drivers are horrible.

It was a Turo rental
The driver is a moron, obviously. However, posting a video of someone you rented your car to via Turo doesn’t seem wise to me either. Sounds like asking for a lawsuit.

Would like to read text she was typing that was so important…
Getting intel from Russian double agent on Putin’s new hyper sonic missile design?
Girlfriend’s period late?
Getting co worker’s Subway order?
Forgot to feed goldfish?

I am so sick of having cars in the oncoming lane swerving in and out in front of me. This shite didn’t happen 15 years ago. Put the fricking phone down and drive before you kill somebody.

I thought that was about to go much worse than it did

Passed a lady on the interstate that was weaving around. It was dark "5am in the morning" she had the interior light on reading a book while driving.

Too many times to describe, I've been in bumper to bumper post LSU game traffic & driver after driver was staring at their phones. Rear enders waiting to happen times 100.

Yep, told this before, but got hit by a drunk in 2015, thrown into a tree across the road. Airbags deployed and my initial thought was the truck was on fire. My door was crushed in, so I had to try to reach around my screaming wife, unbuckle her seat belt, find the door handle open it, and shove her out, then do myself and scramble out.
Ever since then, I watch oncoming cars closely, and you can always tell when someone is impaired and distracted coming toward you.

Many people renting their vehicles via Turo are going to learn some hard lessons about having commercial insurance when leasing your car out.
I don't know why people still find it necessary to hold their phone while driving. Google Assistant will read your text to you and allow you to respond all via voice. People are stupid. I see them everyday in $80,000 SUVs and they haven't figured out how to enable Bluetooth.
