Or those foot handles so you can open the door with your foot, though that may be ableist against people in wheelchairs.

I get pissed when there isn’t a trash can near the door for this very reason. Any idiot custodial staff knows to do this and when there isn’t one near the door I literally throw it on the ground inside the bathroom as I let go of the handle. I’m sorry but if they arent going out of their way to prevent a mess, I’m not going out of my way either.

I do agree that it is nasty as hell to have to grab the handle on your way out of a restroom. However, most any public door that exits to a hall will swing in only in order to keep people who are walking down the hall from getting knocked out by a door swinging out as they walk by.

The worst is when you’re in a run down gas station with one stall and no other option but to lock the door, then you wash your hands and no soap comes out.

Staph infections are no joke. I lived for a year and a half with recurring staph in my nose, armpits, and one in my cheek. If I have to be a bitch to prevent them from coming back after FINALLY getting rid of it then so be it.

If there is no garbage can inside the bathroom there usually isn’t one outside of it. I’m not walking around with a nasty paper towel in my hand searching for a trash can. I’d rather let it fall onto the bathroom floor instead.
