I hate it with a passion. When I spoke in the past I learned the first 30 seconds were so bad I had to do something. From then on I decided to stop at a chair or table on the way to the stand and say something to a buddy, like , “ you nervous? Well, you should be!” That would get the jitters out of my voice, and get a few laughs. Had to get those jitters out. Been told numerous times I should be a stand up comic , but no. (That wasn’t an example of a joke)

Yeah. No big deal. They're only people too.

Know your material well and rock on.

Occasional public speech with confidence is a virtue.
Show me somebody who has a deep desire for speaking in public often and I am suspicious of their insecurities and/ or ego.
This is not a shocking revelation to most…

I used to be terrified but I started doing a lot of training presentations about five years ago. Now, I travel all around and present. I think it changed for me when I got really comfortable with the subject matter. I’ve gotten really used to it over time, so it’s become second nature now. Know your material and focus on starting strong.

Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse, then relax.

Just be yourself. Don’t read. Speak to the audience like you are talking to a friend that you’ve just met. Let your knowledge and command of the subject take over, and your nerves will disappear. If you are interested in what you are talking about, the audience will follow, and be interested as well.
