That's the one.

And according to CRS, they do not have the funds to build the project (as of 2014). They didn't foresee getting funding for an additional 5 years unless they develop a Green light 2 program, or mish and mash funding from the state to compile the $55 mill. price tag.

This is according to an email from CRS.

Look, I'm sorry about your neighborhood. Sometimes the good of many requires a few sacrifices.

Why has Pecue been spotlighted as primary as opposed to fixing the actual problem closer to prairieville?

There's a shiny new hospital on Pecue.

That was a handout from 2011. Has there been anymore information on the alternatives?

It will be complete bullshite if they do not connect in that shopping center somehow, like they did with the new mall interchange.

Because there is a road there already, which means there is ROW there already.

I'm not going to be a dick and dismiss what you think would be better, because you could ultimately be right. But remember the state we live in.

Better access to the new hospital makes it necessary. Woodridge subdivision will be just fine.

There were 12 at one point. As of the 2015 meeting it was narrowed down to 4 or 6 i think.

There is, but I couldn't find it.

There is private property there already. Kleinpeter owns the land to the right if you are going to airline. The left side is private. And some land closer to the interstae is state owned. I believe a power substation or a pump station is located there.

I'm not sure exactly where "closer to Prairieville" you're referring to but for one thing the Green Light Plan funds can only be spent on projects within East Baton Rouge Parish. Prairieville is in Ascension Parish.

I'm a fan of the SPUI's. Those are really slick.

I'd sell if I lived off Pecue if this thing comes around.

I realize that. I'm simply regurgitating the email i received. It would have to be a green light type program.

Also, I think they were trying to have it qualified as a federal project to ease up on the funding requirements, which according to the email, would take additional time.

All in all, they don't believe to be able to start construction until at least 2016 if they get funded.

Yes i live in that neighborhood. We have been watching this project very closely, as our concerns were our home value to decrease due to this. However, after hearing some news, our apprehension has eased some, as we don't believe it will negatively impact neighborhood value and we actually hope to see some developments come from this that actually raises house value.

However, since nothing has started yet, there is always apprehension and the best laid plans often flounder when too much time is taken. IMO, Highland road or an interchange over the prairieville overpass of I10 further down the road seems more logical, considering the epic traffic cluster every day of people getting to those areas.

Here, you are simply putting a 3rd interchange within a mile of 2 existing interstate interchanges.

If done right, i think it can raise the value of the homes.

I don't think Woodridge/Briarwood is going to be affected by this that much. It's already a clusterfrick trying to get out the neighborhood most of the time. I don't mind the exchange happening, as long as all the surrounding surface streets are expanded and connected.

I'd welcome a fricken gas station or grcoery store in the vicinity of my neighborhood, instead of hoping CVS has what I need so i don't have to go all the way to Highland or Siegen.

LINK

There's a video of the interchange graphic. I don't think Louisiana drivers can handle it without multiple wrecks.

That's exactly what i don't want to happen. If you want to put a gas station off airline (which there is a shell there) then go for it. And there is an albertsons down the road and calandro's the other way. It's not that far of a drive.

I also, am assuming your house doesn't back into the kleinpeter field.

well that's exactly what i do want b/c it is that far of a drive. If i forgot to get something i need to cook and realize it at 430, it's a 30 minute trip to go to that terrible albertsons that i hate going to but is my only close option. and it's not a calandros, it's Alexanders, and that's impossible to try to go to during peak hours.

and i'm in Briarwood.
If my house backed up to the field, then i'd feel differently about all this, and i almost bought a house that did back up to the field b/c the yards were bigger.
