Psychology-wise, self - awareness wise, People under 30 have a language we never had

Youtube videos, message boards, etc have allowed for the dissemination of information at an earlier age than my generation had access to . Ideas and even wise ideas seep into The Zeitgeist much easier now. Like idiocy, wisdom can spread as well in a much faster manner . While we won the lottery by living in a much cooler and permissive era when Free Speech was truly celebrated and there weren’t 1000 rules for every little thing, we never had the self awareness this generation has because we never had the societal informal shared language . I’m obviously talking about WELL ADJUSTED people .
Specifically with language and terminology. I’m amazed at how sophisticated my kids are at problem resolution and understanding the motives of other people.Something simple like “ red pill “ or 100 other terms implies a certain self reflection that my generation just didn’t have. We were truly flying blind. This generation is infinitely softer than we were but also a lot more savvy about interpersonal stuff. You guys possess a more specific terminology that gets right to the psychology of a thing. I like it and respect it.
Downvote from old and young now.

I just heard an extraordinary lecture about a similar topic at my Cornell jai alai reunion.

I wish I had above info and wisdom when I was a lot younger.

I’m actually amazed at how much accessible WISDOM there is on a given topic on the internet and how each spawns a shared language. Whereas I had encyclopedias and dry college professors. It’s phenomenal. And it has spawned a kind of cottage industry in all these kind of interesting topics.
For instance the whole MGTOW movement. We never went that deep. Even if you think it’s pathetic crap, it’s still something that people deep dive in a way we just didn’t in 1985.
Politics, culture, psychology, relationships- smart people just have more at their fingertips to devour now. It’s pretty awesome.

Outside of a minority of them, still a bunch of utterly worthless pussies that have to call AAA when they catch a flat though.

True. But at least they can commiserate about it online with tens of thousands of similar pussies.

I totally agree. My son, 18, is way ahead of me at that age.

They have a language we did not have. That’s the difference.

When the shite hits the fan in the future with the Religion of Peace versus the modern world, I’m glad the Tylers of the world will be so well-acquaintanted with their inner children to firmly and resolutely deal with it.

Self-awareness comes from your own experiences and travails, not from reading what a bunch of other people have done or think. What they have is a vocabulary, so they re pretty good at talking about what other people have already done. Which means exactly jack squat.
