I made that post before seeing the video. I am hoping that dumbass who made the post in the OP made her post before seeing the video as well, because there is no way someone with any sense can look at that video and say "well if people would have just gone out in the neighborhood and gotten to know him".
Even if I did know him.. If I saw him doing that, there is no way in hell to tell that wasn't a gun unless you were right upon him. I don't care if it is my best friend, if I look outside and see him randomly going up to people, pointing something at them, that looks like a gun, as if he was going to shoot them, I am calling the police.

The missing piece of her outrage is probably the race of the officer that shot him.

Pretending to have a gun and putting it in someone’s face is felony assault.
He committed multiple counts of felony assault before the cops took him out.

So they knew he was mentally challenged but didn’t do dick to get the guy help so he wouldn’t get lit up by the police? Why didn’t the neighbors who knew him go out there and help the guy themselves since that’s the expectation of any white person that’s moved into the neighborhood?

This story reminds me of a guy named Ray that rides around my neighborhood on a tricycle picking up random junk and singing gospel on the street corners. He wouldn’t pretend a shower head was a gun and point it at people’s heads though.
Here’s a story about when some homeless people stole his bike and the neighborhood (gentrifying whiteys) bought him a new bike.
