I've had Rev (formerly Eatel) internet for 10 years. Since 2019, I've been paying for the 1G speed, which cost $99/month. I haven't looked at updated pricing since setting it up, though, and I just noticed that the same speed for a new customer is $79/month, and 750/750 is $69/month. I chose the 750mbps speed since I think that's still fast enough for my family's usage. Saving $30/month now.

I also pay $99/gig. Eero reports show I have 14 devices, on average, connected most of the time.

I do see stuttering while streaming through Amazon Cube or Tablo. Noticeable via Hulu, Max, Netflix…about every hour or so it is like the video jerks and finds itself after a couple of tries. Not sure if it’s the Eero router or the Rev service.

Yes they got me me with that. I was paying $75/month for 250 mbps. I called to transfer services to my new home and they told me their prices changed. I fully expected her to tell me it went up, but for the same $75/month, I can get 1 GBps

We do not have Rev where we live because if so I would have it. I do have ATT 1gig fiber for $80 a month.

I haven't found anything better than ATT fiber. I am currently paying $55/month for it and have had it for 2 years

In Ascension Parish, Eatel/REV is legendary. ATT and Cox are horrible in Ascension

Rev is the GOAT. I've literally never, ever had a single problem with it. Plus, when the power is out I still get internet as long as I use the generator. That helps tremendously during hurricanes.

I tried to make a deal face to face with a REV manager: cut my tv bill to $125, it was $150 at the time and I will stay with REV and not cut the cord.
She refused my offer, so I cut the cord and now stream, saving 50 a month.
They were willing to lose $150 for $25, so be it.
btw: she confessed to cutting the cord herself, a REV employee.

Att was that upgrade for me for storms. I was on the brink of just getting starlink

I was paying $127/month for 1G with Rev. I saw the $79/month pricing and called them a month ago about it. They said that I was seeing the new pricing that came out in July. I asked them why I was paying $127/month when the current pricing was $79/month and they changed it. I asked why I had to call them to get them to give me the latest pricing and they ignored my question. In short, I'm not happy with Rev because apparently I was paying much higher than others for a very long time for the same service. That's bullshite.

Also check on your parents and older relatives that have REV internet. My father was paying $70-something a month for way more bandwidth than he needed for only himself with a smart TV, PC, and smartphone. 250 Mbps is plenty enough for that and it is only $39 per month.

People that live alone or empty-nesters should have plenty enough with the 250M plan unless they are also online gaming or live-streaming themselves.

You're worried that 750mbps is not enough and all I can get out of lowly Optimum is this....

quote:

74.2 Mbps download

8.05 Mbps upload

Latency: 17 ms
Server: Dallas
Your Internet connection is very fast.

Your Internet connection should be able to handle multiple devices streaming HD videos, video conferencing, and gaming at the same time.

People considering REV might want to read the history of this Louisiana-grown corporation - LINK

It's the merger of three small phone companies dating to the 1930's that serviced rural Louisiana areas that the Bell System skipped. Highly successful Eatel shows what can happen with such companies are innovative and well financed. The record of adopting the best available technology is impressive.

Agreed. I’d also mention that if something does go down they send a technician super fast, same day most of the time

In Houma, you can only get REV if you are a business and it is located near their fiber lines.

But they do offer video and internet over fiber.

We have it at the office in downtown Houma.

Beats the pants off of Comcast and AT&T. AT&T would only install expensive dedicated fiber lines instead of best effort services or slow arse DSL despite the building already having fiber there.
