I smoke weed once or twice per year. Last year a friend and I went to San Diego. We went to a dispensary and I got a vape pen and my friend got these fruit strip edibles. I didn't take any edibles until the last night there. I ate one of these fruit strips. They were like an 3/4" wide and 2 inches long. I ate one. I was on my phone and it started to hit me. It was great at first. Then holy shite, I was fricked up. I could barely walk. It was like walking on a trampoline. Felt just like the floor was sinking down as I walked. Took forever to go away. Probably won't ever take them again.

Do you remember what dose you took? Best to start with 10mgs or so and slowly increase your dose until you find what you're looking for. Anything over 50 mgs is going to be a bad time for me but you routinely hear about people eating 100 mgs or more their first time.

I don't remember. I don't think it was that high. The guy at the shop recommended taking 3 the first time. lol, I would have died! My buddy didn't have any problems taking the edibles. He got really messed up off my vape pen though.

If he recommended 3 the first time they were probably 5-10 mgs. If one fricked you up that bad I'd probably stay away from them altogether too.

The first time I tried an edible from a dispensary was gummies I bought on a Vegas trip. I think I ate 4 5mg gummies (my buddy said that 15 -20 mg was a good starting point) right before I walked into the David Copperfield show. Now keep in mind that the last time I smoked was several years before that. You talk about tripping the flip out. I couldn't move, was sitting at a table with 3 other complete strangers (because the friends I went to Vegas didn't want to go), and started seeing all of this crazy crap like a spaceship coming down from the ceiling and then disappearing (it was part of the act) and all sorts of crazy crowd participation stuff. I just knew I was going to get chosen to participate in some trick. It took all of my mental power just to keep from making a mad dash for the exit. It was a freaking nightmare.
