It’ll literally be below freezing for a handful of hours. Geez.
Austin, Texas will literally be below freezing beginning Saturday afternoon until Monday midday.
Why are you the way you are?

why would you not have insulated your incoming supply that is exposed to the elements from the get go? Don't be that guy. Use common sense.
Because I hired a plumber to do it.
The lines were behind a panel that has to be removed to see them. I never thought that they would leave water lines exposed to the outside not insulated. I fixed his work though.
To be fair it’s rarely that cold here for an extended time. It was under freezing for about 5 days IIRC.

Yeah, I get that and I assume you live in Georgia since your a Dawg fan. Insulating those pipes aren't required by KY state plumbing code, and if you're in Georgia, I can't imagine why it would be there either.
However, if I'm doing that job, I'm at least having that conversation with you the homeowner about them being exposed if I were working down there. I understand in Georgia there are probably years where you may not dip below freezing, and so it's more of a judgement call. Here, I'm simply doing it every single time, without exception.
I don't think the plumber is at fault per se for not insulating them. Im saying he should have talked to you about that after installation and made you aware of the potential for freezing in that non-insulated space, which you found out the hard way.
At least they didn't burst on you and you got them wrapped up

USAA texted me to remind me not to use gas generators indoors. Passing it along.
If someone is stupid enough to run a gas powered generator indoors, well I doubt they can even read the text message. That is about the same of the message when you call the doctors office and get the "if this is a medical emergency you need to hang up and dial 911".

I'm always surprised at all the idiots that do this. That's why I had the genius idea to bring my fire pit into the living room, no smog emissions from a generator!

While burning a fire in your fireplace, keep your chimney flue closed. This is to prevent valuable heat from escaping your living space.
