Also I was wrong on the 10A, apparently it blew the 50A breaker in the distribution panel

Sort of a half truth there. You can't have amperage w/out voltage. Voltage is the potential energy that then becomes "kinetic" (for lack of better term). Power/energy is what kills you.

It was over 50A that came through the wire (we had to replace a 50A rated breaker in the distribution panel.)
There were two events that happened pretty damn fast, first a big pop (which is pretty normal for something like this) followed by a quick buzz arc'd discharge that hit the side of the rack in the picture.
The distance from the breaker on the line to the side of the rack was roughly 5 inches.
edit: Our distribution panel currently has ~54.9V / 500A it's managing. The Modules you see in the rack have a V rating of -48 (obviously there's really no such thing as negative voltage, we simply put the hot wire in the neg port)

But you have to have enough voltage to push the current through the human body in order to kill:

For example, a 12 volt battery that can deliver 200 amps won't harm a human at all because of the electrical resistance of the human body.
