Stampley initially met up with Pearson around 7:30 p.m. in a Wal-Mart parking lot. The two men then rode together in Pearson's vehicle to a less visible parking lot off Airport Road to conduct the deal.

After reaching the lot, the sheriff's office said, Pearson dealt Stampley some Xanax pills. As Stampley was trying to pay Pearson, Pearson pulled out a gun and robbed Stampley of his cell phone and his wallet, which contained $350, according to the sheriff's office. Pearson also took back some of the Xanax he had just sold to Stampley, the sheriff's office said.

Stampley was arrested on a drug-possession charge for the Xanax he still had, the sheriff's office said.

Pearson was arrested Thursday morning (Jan. 19) after a St. Tammany Parish SWAT team found him at his mother's home on Rose Meadow Loop in Slidell. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish jail on one count of armed robbery.
