For you fellow coaches out there, don't give up! We're also deliberately the Tigers (Detroit since it had to be an MLB team)!
After getting off to a rough 0-2 record last week, they really gelled for their first road game in the next county (parish for my LA friends) and we came home with a dominating 15-6 win!
There were so many highlights including a walk that turned into a home run, a rocket line drive that almost got out of the park, an in-the-field grand slam, and a great sliding catch in deep right field by one of our youngest players to end the game! For context this is an 11/12 year old age team
After being tied , we had a 10-run top of the 5th inning to put it out of reach!
Geaux Tigers! LSU could use some pointers from these Tigers!!

Thanks for coaching.
It’s a thankless job and we need more dads to step up.

Nice! The $400 bats and $80 sliding mitts are paying off. Make sure as soon as the bats go out of style they get new ones so they’ll have peak performance.

Best times of my life. Won rec league championship 10U. Then, travel
Ball destroyed great memories. Certainly some good ones. But pure baseball fun with kids…died.
Keep focused on having fun w/kids and you won’t go wrong…for all.

Thank you and I agree we sure do! My 5th year (10th season (fall/spring) and some parents use the 90-minute practices (or even 22-hr games) as daycare, dropping their kids off, then going grab dinner or do shopping.
Be involved in your kids lives, don't outsource that job!

The little Jaxxxons better all have either Icon, Hype Fire, or Louisville Supra bats or they won’t be able to hit!

Better secure that NIL bag from Tony’s Muffler so you can bring in Braighyten Waighyten from district VII for the Galaxy Series Championship Tournament. He’s already had offers from the real Detroit Tigers so get him while the gettins good

They say the triple is the most exciting play in baseball. But I believe a little league infield grand slam tops it.

Love this kind of post. Ironically, my 8 u team(also, the tigers because I let my son name the team and of course he named them the tigers despite the mlb tigers piss poor performance) won their championship.
As an aside, I had coached in that league since tball so I knew most of the kids. I had two kids I had on my team from the year prior that no one would draft so I took the, One had a a severe illness when he was younger that slowed his development to the point that he was barely able to run, literally. He had one hit that year for a single but that single hit had caused the stands to erupt, including our opponents fans and team members. Another kid had a prosthetic eye from losing his eye to cancer as an infant(who’s father passed away when the boy was 1), that we developed into one of our pitchers. Made me nervous as hell though because I was paranoid he’d get hit in the good eye with a line drive. A had the only girls in the league. They were twins that were in a foster home but came from a really shitty family situation which caused them to be so dependent on each other they had to get drafted together and again, no one wanted them, so I drafted them. Add to that they were two of the very few black kids in the league. I had three kids that had never played baseball before. As in, didn’t even know the bases or 3 strikes equals an out. But we had a fun year with no parental bullshite that’s so prevalent these days.

I can see this happening but how does a Walk turn into a home run? Guessing the kid just ran to first and didn't stop because pitcher/catcher weren't paying attention then throw to second wound up in outfield.
