I’ll be looking out for my reparations from the Barbary Coast enslavement of white Christian & non-Christian slaves taken by pirates in North Africa that spanned over 250 yrs.

On top of that I’ll now claim to being oppressed.

Damn, Tboy. That's one of your better posts.
It blows my mind.
He post that, which seems reasonable, well thought out, and not divisive.
He follows it up with an intentional lie

Had a shite ton of cotton laying around anyway. I’m glad they’ll take it off my hands.

Or serfdom in eastern Europe. There are Russians in Brighton Beach who, back home, could legitimately say they're descended from people who were essentially slaves.

There's no shortage of things that could be reformed:
1)Ending police (and govt) unions
2)Ending no knock raids
3)Ending civil asset forfeiture
4)Ending policing for revenue (tickets, dui, forfeitures etc go to state general fund)
5)Ending the drug war
Granted any of those would create big change, but all of them should be on someone's list. This shouldn't be a racial issue.

I would bet that most of the worlds population is descendants from some form of slavery at one point in human history. Yet, there’s one group who consistently uses the argument as a crutch to support the downfall of their communities.
We as Americans know that our society needs work, yet a large part of the black community refuses to confront their own issues with black on black killings, single parent homes who have often left raising a child to the grandparents, domestic violence, welfare reform, education. America cannot talk about these issues without someone taking offense and claiming racism, this is the heart of the issue.
What happened in Minnesota & Alabama are tragic & I don’t think most white Americans believe that either victim should have been killed, but has anybody ask us about how a majority of us feel about it? NO, the narrative automatically goes to blame whitey.
Has anyone cared to ask a white male how it feels to be blamed for EVERYTHING?

Not at all. The reparations people have been around for a long time. The examples given in this thread are not demands which are contemporaneous with the present protests. There may be a posterboard sign here and there which mentions reparations, but this unrest seems pretty well focused on policing and the death of that guy, as a symbol for all general mistreatment.
The comment I was addressing:
quote:
They want reparations and more free shite from the white man
That is not in any of the messaging in connection with this unrest. The intentional lie is the assertion that this comment is what the protests are about. It isn't. You know it isn't. It is just a flippant comment, and the "free shite from the white man" is racist as hell.

Seems the overarching theme is an overhaul in the way our communities are policed.
Certainly if you asked every single protester you'd get a litany of goals, but I think that one is the overarching one.
Most of them have no kind of realistic actual plan though.
Lets be fair, a vast majority of the protesters are kids who get their worldview from what they see on Facebook.
