This isn't the place for a political discussion, but I do agree with you that it shouldn't be banned, however, it does have an adverse effect on others in the form higher health care costs. When those fat asses waddle their way in for dialysis they can't pay for, we are expected to pay. Let them die, I say.

And when years of drug abuse catches up with you and you go to the hospital for an overdose or your liver is failing but have no money to pay for it - that adversely affects others. Or you steal from your family and neighbors bc your addiction has taken over your life. That doesn't affect anyone but the addict, right?

Cost of having a modern society, like utilities and roads.

At some point you have to realize that your "solution" to a legitimate issue is counterproductive and makes things worse than they would be without it. Realize that enforcement of prohibition also costs a whole lot of money just like your cited healthcare costs, except law enforcement to my view has proven to be wholly ineffective.

I don't want the government poking around in my life either. But cigarettes and sugar have killed way more people than crack, cocaine, heroin and prescription drugs combined.

The OT loves their sugar. You can pry their Sonic 56oz sodas from their dead hands.

I don't think sodas and the like should be banned. What should be banned is how they are sweetened. What should be banned is high fructose corn syrup!!

It's funny that the Obama administration banned four loko but didn't have a problem with cigarettes. One gets you drunk, the other kills you...let's ban the one that gets you drunk.

I grew sunflowers once. Wanted to make my own spicy sunflower seeds. IMO, they don't bloom long enough to make it worthwhile for just the flowers.

Yeah, ok, one of the better pieces of legislation passed in decades that insured millions of Americans.

frick you and the ACA. I changed jobs twice last year for the first time in over a decade. Got dinged for $445 PENALTY for not having insurance for 4 total months last year.

Did I already say frick you?

As for the OP,

Overdraft fees. Those should not be legal in their current state, even though most banks are giving you the option to turn off the ability to overdraft.
Should be restructured to account for DURATION of overdraft instead of the amount.
