I don’t give a shite if you do everything to the letter there will always be some kind of bullshite to exclude you from your payment and then they let you know months later in hopes you have lost the information. Or you will just never hear back from those bastards.

It’s a trick. Don’t ever buy anything with the idea you are going to get that money.

I've never had any issues on rebates. At least none that I can remember.

I don't know man, maybe you should have done some research on buttplugs that didn't have a rebate attached.

I'd guess I've done a couple dozen rebates for computer equipment. Never had a problem, and I always set reminders in Outlook so I don't forget about them.

Is the rebate through Lowes orthe door manufacturer? Is there a requirement you didn't meet to receive the rebate?

Of course they are a scam.. Why not just take that amount off the cost, at the time of purchase? Because the rebate bullshite is just a marketing tool that makes the deal sound better than it actually is.

I just got a check in for 14.99, the full purchase price of some vitamins I bought like 4 months ago.

Because companies know that a certain percentage of people will forgot to apply for the rebate or fill the form out wrong.

most of them you will get after about 8-10 month wait

and yes many play games by asking for copies of the documents after 5 or 6 months have gone by knowing most people dont back them up

i have gotten all the rebates i sent off for but a good 40% tried to play that "please resubmit the documents as we cant find them" game. if you dont scan and save the paperwork you send in you are screwed at that point

When I purchased I was told it was on door purchases only, but the paper today said it had to also be installed by Lowes which I didn’t do.

Yeah they lump in all the loopholes they can. Just the other day I had to argue with Amex for not giving me a statement credit. There was an offer to get $50 statement credit if you spent a certain amount at a specific store and used your amex card. So my wife added the offer to our card while we were in the aisle. We check out and I swipe my card. When I ask amex about it the other day they told me:

"Oh, well the offer was added to the Mrs. card, but the purchase was on your card, so it's not eligible."

Now I'm sure they buried that somewhere deep in the fine print. But what a crock of shite. Sure, it's two different card numbers, but we're married and it's all linked to the same account. All of our purchases are on the same statement. We assumed it didn't make any difference. It just happened to be me that was standing by the register when we were done being rung up. There's no reason to write that kind of stipulation into the offer other than to screw people over

Exactly this. Companies are playing the odds....and they win!

Disagree. Remington sent me $100 back on a case of nitro steel shells earlier this year making them $7.99/box after rebate. Took 4 months, but worth it.

Ah. Well if you want to go through the hassle, do the online chat service on Lowe's website. You won't get the full rebate, but if you explain the sales rep told you installation wasn't necessary and complain enough about it, they'll give you a gift card or coupon to make you go away. Good luck

Back in the early days of CD-Rs rebate scams were the norm.
