I’ll never fly private. Those are the ones that go down, not the big USA airliners!

The reason that private jets go down more often isn’t because of less skilled pilots. It’s because of strict regimented procedures that all airline pilots follow rigidly. They follow the script to a T and they never waiver from it. Large and heavily funded corporate flight departments do the same. You don’t hear about Coke or Walmart or Exxon jets crashing because they follow airline like procedures.

Chuck Yeager could be flying a citation and if he eventually starts making up his own rules and procedures to save money or time he’s eventually going to crash too.

Wait until I tell you about the UPS plane that crashed here recently (34 years old) and killed several people.

I remember that.

His dad was looking over him and Amy that day.

I hate to hear that if true. I always enjoyed watching him wheel that #16 3M Rousch Fenway Racing Ford around the track.

I was at Homestead in 2005 when 2 helicopters collided after the race. One was taking off, the other was landing. Happened right by where we were hanging out after. Only the pilots were onboard, I'm thinking, but I want to say one was landing to pick up a driver.

Biffle was a hero up here in the mountains on both NC/TN sides after Helene. Rescued some folks. Delivered supplies. He was nonstop for weeks after that storm, helping get to some extremely remote hollers where bridges were washed out or trees and slides just prevented any enter and exit.

I hope NASCAR starts a humanitarian award in honor of him.

Dale Jr’s crash happened five minutes from my place here in Northeast TN. Seeing that thing up close, it’s amazing they all got out.

f I owned a jet of that size (and knew how to fly), I would have a co-pilot if my family is on board.

the guys that have that kind of dough and want to play pilot that are smart hire pilots to do the heavy lifting and just take the glory of telling all their buddies “I fly my own jet!” Buffett did it, Travolta to an extent

With the report of five adults killed, it sounds like they had pilots flying.

I trust airline and most military pilots. I don't trust anyone else flying LOL. Even when Dad had his 172, he would always inspect the plane, check the fuel, and go through the checklists.

Do you fear for yourself, who is a licensed driver and drives your own car?

The big difference between car accidents and plane accidents is that you read about all of the plane accidents.

Fair point.
