My guess is the stimulus and expanded unemployment has largely become a scapegoat for restaurant managers
How is it a scapegoat when your employees quit and you're left hiring people with zero experience that are terrible at the job or don't show up?

Republicans are pointing at Democrats and saying "All this inflation is your fault!"
Democrats are pointing at Republicans and say "It's your fault you started it!"
And both groups are right.
Giving away a bunch of "Free" money and we see inflation? is there anyone shocked by this?

Does Scruffy think Scruffy is being clever by referring to himself in the third person? Bamafig wants to know.

No. That’s not what I’m saying.
What I’m saying is the idea it’s Biden’s fault more than Trump’s at this point is hogwash.

You're right, you are entitled to your choice of employees irrespective of the benefits you offer in return for their labor.

And then you have the people who point to the "fastest pace in three years" bit of the title. And they all say, "See....Trump!".
What too many fail to realize is that inflation isn't just a short-term killer. It doesn't have to "destroy our economy" to have a very real impact. The issue is that it doesn't go away, it compounds. It grows and continues to put more and more people into poverty. So, while we see the feel-good stories of the wonderful government helping so many people with "free money", keep in mind that all they are really doing is making those people poorer in the future.
You're right, this is a problem of the whole, not one "side" or the other.

I laughed when so many Conservatives threw, and continue to throw, their support behind Donald Trump.

the sun will rise in the East, and Democrats will never be outspent by Republicans. The problem is, we just have two Democrat parties now, in regards to fiscal responsibility.
SO conservatives voting at all is the laughable scenario? I'm sure that angle would work very well for the dem party. Are they paying you?
Trump supported more fiscally conservative things in his one term than the last 5 dem presidents (tax cuts, deregulation, domestic production and corporate investment, sound foreign economic policy, etc.) These stimulus payments with no guarantees of a deadline to end this catastrophic response to covid was not one of them. Of course, over the course of his term, to the surprise of apparently many, Trump became a politician. Pushing back against the stimulus was suicide for reelection (of course many understood he was doomed as soon as it was decided that we would destroy our economy for that purpose.) Dems would have called for yet another impeachment had he vetoed the stimulus, and journalists would have started writing stories on the "growing desire to get Trump out of office 'by any means necessary.'"
I wouldn't say Trump ideologically became a huge liberal during covid. He just became a huge pussy. Then again, so did about 80% of this country.

The complaint I've seen is they can't even hire anyone because the labor pool is sitting at home drawing unemployment because it pays more than what they can earn at the restaurant. While I'm sure that is happening, what me and the other poster are wondering is at what level it is happening. There seems to be a general sentiment that it 100% the cause of it.

Which policy of Trump's has created the most good in your life?
Decrease in illegal immigration
Lowered taxes (immediate boost in my take home pay)
Passed bill to stop anti racism in schools (was being discussed in my child’s school)
Confirmed 3 non progressive Supreme Court judges
All of those will have an impact on my and my child’s life. Not to mention preventing the lunacy the left wants to put into law. The delta between Hillary and Trump was massive.
Do you want me to keep going?

So then you are saying Biden has fricked up already? Because the way you phrased your comment....that "when Biden fricks up..and he will" makes it sound like he hasn't fricked up already.

Unemployment is going down, and places like restaurants are just now opening back up.
You can't restaff in 3 days, it takes time, money, and effort.
Yes, SOME people are choosing to remain unemployed, but it is only a small part of the problem, but it's most assuredly the number one talking point of a mid 40s high school graduate.
And the fact I'm agreeing with you should tell you how fricking absurd their take is

Did I put you on the PT list of vermin
But come on. Politics is as plain as day and scummy. I even saw it play out in my little burg of 5K this past weekend for Mayor lol. We're 85% Red, had 3 R candidates, no D, and each used the same identity platform against each other to the letter. When the forums weren't diverse enough re talking points, they all started attacking reputations, family history or business prowess. The loudest incumbent won no less and was the worst of the bunch.

Cute.
No, they could actually start voting for Conservatives and holding those they put in office accountable, though. I can give a jackass a clever name, and start running him in horse races, but that doesn't make him a race horse. And he ain't winning the Kentucky Derby any time soon.

Every politician starts fricking up on day 1, including pretty much every republican.
It's the nature of being a politician.
