GFS should be running pretty soon.

18z is best of both worlds. Keeps Jose buried in the BOC and turns Irma out to sea.

Takes Irma to the 5th strongest storm on record in the Atlantic, but it is worth noting both the 12z Euro and 18z GFS fail to develop Jose and sent it south to Mexico.

If a low comes in contact with another low, do they push each other away or join together? Like, if the low in the BOC stays and doesn't go anywhere and Irma heads that way, could the low draw Irma further west?

If they come close enough, roughly 870 miles, the Fujiwhara effect will kick in:

You should post more in these threads. It is hilarious how it triggers everyone. I find myself scrolling down for certain posters in these threads, and you are one of them.

Does that mean they cancel each other out?

I am in SWFL and currently have a foot of water in our road that has gone down about six inches, since getting 3 days of rain over the weekend from a small tropical storm. The water is receding slowly, because we are surrounded by retention ponds, rivers and the gulf. Irma had better track SW. I just moved in a brand new house, on an elevated lot, no flood required, but I have it anyway.

Good luck everyone. August and September are rough months. US Hurricanes Landfall by State

Where do you live at in Naples?

Port Royal? Pelican Bay? Golden Gate? Golden Gate Estates? North Naples? Old Naples? The Moorings?

Irma could be scary. Almost a hurricane already.

If that happened, it'd be a politically correct storm, transgendered.

Left Naples for Bonita. We didn't want an HOA, so we found a great, established neighborhood. Only 3 brand new houses. The one across the street sold for $590K. The housing prices are insane here. For what we paid, I could have bought a giant house in LA. But it is quiet, almost country. 3 houses in here took on water. We sandbagged our neighbor's much lower house yesterday, because she is in hospice. Strange to live somewhere where people look out for each other, actively and outside of a disaster. But, I do love how our LA boys step up to help others when it is needed.

You can't force the PEEJ curse, it has to come from him on his own.

Personally hope he keeps his mouth shut or says it will be a Cat-5 in the gulf

No, not necessarily, but the weaker one is often absorbed if there is enough time/room.
