Man. Here’s hug your way brother.

We lost my sister when she just turned 18. To this day, I pray to God I never face what you or my parents did.

So so sorry

Thank you. There are good days and bad days. But I do know I’ll see my boy again and that helps

How long ago was this Ted? My son just turned 4 and I would have a hard time going on with my life if something happened to him. He's my heart and soul

These things really put life in perspective. Before I read this I was pissed about having to go solve some not my problems tomorrow. All of that suddenly is inconsequential

Prayers for yall. Yall are tough.

I just read through that thread. I already had tears rollin. His last comment on p21 made me fricking lose it. Laying in Bed, Had to roll over so my wife didn’t wake up and think I was nuts. My 2 little ones are in the living room watching ET. Think I’m going lay with them. That’s horrible

It's hard to explain the love of a parent for a child. It doesn't go away or lessen over time either. I'd gladly take a bullet for mine right now even though she's a shithead teenager who's mostly a pain in my arse.

That whole perspective thing really makes sense when you have kids doesn't it!

I have an almost 5 year old and a recently turned 2 year old. It's like in the blink of an eye I went from being a new dad to now sitting here wondering how we don't have a baby in the house. Two things stick out to me. 1) I realize how old my parents are getting so quickly. I remember them at basically the age I am now. They aren't old, but they are grandparents and knowing how fast they went from parents of me as a teenager to grandparents of a 5 year old is crazy. Makes me realize how soon I will be in those shoes 2) Even on the days where my kids are causing absolute havoc, there is no better moment than seeing them first thing in the morning and putting them to sleep last thing at night. As a young dad trying to find his own way at times, I have to slow down and cherish all of these moments. Nothing better than the innocence of young kids.

Feel like I have seen your comments on here for years now. Think we are probably the same age and in similar life situations based on Money Talk posts and this here. Enjoy it all man. My son is 2 as well. Daughter is 5. Seeing them together and knowing he is coming into his own is the best thing ever.

Our youngest will be 14 on Thanksgiving Day. They don't stay young for very long. Enjoy it while you can.

My son passed away in 2009. He was my first born child. Him and I had a great relationship and he was/is my buddy. It’s been pure hell. I was right beside him when he passed. I was the last person he saw when he took his last breath. I can’t describe the pain and honestly I can’t talk about it any more right now. Hug your kids tight and cherish every second.

I always appreciate this comment, but also follow up on it. What would you do differently, knowing what you know? Feel like I have a good grasp on time and perspective and that really emphasizes how I interact with my kids, but interested to hear your thoughts.
