My however many great Grandfather, Gen. William Moultrie designed the flag. The crescent came from a part of the uniform of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment.

I think the thread would have had a different tone had it taken one of two tracks, either:

What flag do you find most attractive

or

What flag means the most to you

I have never found the US flag the most attractive, probably because of its ubiquity. I like the modern German flag because I like the colors and the SC flag because I think it is the GOAT state flag.

Now without a doubt, the modern US flag means the most to me by far. The one second closest to my heart is my old regimental flag because it represents my brothers in arms that fought/fight for the US flag.
