The Soviets had an overwhelming advantage in manpower and equipment. The USA was out if atomic weapons and the Soviets hd all of the research needed tk develop the bomb.
Read Allies at War by Tim Bouverie. Great analysis of the negotiations and power balance between the USA, UK, and the Soviets. As a bonus, you’ll also find out that Churchill had wine with breakfast.

USSR had plenty of land to trade while eating up US troops.

I've often wondered if America should not have helped the USSR and instead let the Nazi anaconda try to swallow the Soviet elephant.
The Roosevelt administration had a lot of Communist sympathizers including his wife.
I’ve wondered this also. The German war machine was so strong it took a conglomerate of nations and a two front war to stop it and even then it took years to finally capitulate them. American industry titans of the day had several Nazi sympathizers as well. Not supporters but people like Henry Ford who admired German industry, ingenuity, engineering, technology, etc.

The US had enough on its plate with rebuilding Western Europe via the Marshall Plan. I think the last thing they wanted to do was to rebuild all the way to the Soviet border, let alone continue the worst war in history.
As such, I think they were hoping that Stalin acted in good faith at the Potsdam Conference. Instead, communist regimes were installed in every country that were within the Soviet zone.
To get back to the question, I doubt the Americans had the wherewithal to sustain a major offensive and occupation of western Russia.

I wonder what octane of fuel the soviets were producing compared to America?

But in 1945, they already had our trucks. Our trucks don’t disappear as soon as we declare war.

How about the spare parts? Tires? Grease to lube them?

I'm not sure I'd say the USSR were weak after Berlin fell. In fact, I'd say they had achieved a full on mobilization and geared their entire state for war. They had just defeated the Germans on the Eastern Front. I'm not of the persuasion that the USSR won WWII in Europe but they were fighting the bulk of the Germans for a long time on the largest land front of the war.
I think the argument was that we were at the peak of our strength and would be able to grow even more in regards to generating men and material. Political will was strong and if we could keep that we would have been in the best place for an all out war in 1945.
I'm not sure it would have gone so well, but we'd had a shot. 10 years later it was MAD and the Cold War, which in hindsight was probably a better war to fight than a hot war.

True, but we were the supply line
