Post flood follow up: Anyone have mold despite their remediation efforts?

Has anyone seen or heard about people having mold growth in their homes or get sick even though they had gutted and sprayed? Not talking about neglected homes, I have seen quite a few of those with mold.
I spoke with two inspectors and they hadn't had any positive air samples from homes that were gutted.

Unless the flood water got high enough to get into the duct work there is no reason to change it out. If mold is present in the duct work it probably isn't due to the flooding, it's due to being in south louisiana.

Mold spores aren't stagnant and move. If the A/C was ran while mold spores were in the house then there is a chance some mold spores could have made their way into the ducts.

A mold outbreak can be circulated to the ducts, but fogging the ducts could resolve it.

Yea, there's probably more houses with mold in some shape or form than without it around here and the flood probably had nothing to do with most.

just because the dwelling was sprayed and certified mold free, mold can then get back in for a number of reasons.
Also, everyone has mold in their houses. when an industrial hygienist samples air in a building, the should also sample the air outside. you should not see a condition where air inside has a higher count of spores then the air outside. but you should see spores as all air contains spores.
the construction process could put the dwelling under risk of re-contamination. mold needs (3) things to grow. Moisture, darkness, and food source. If the building was not fully dried out, and the moisture content of the studs or other wood products was too high, mold can reform. If insulation that was wet inside of walls was not fully removed, mold can form again. If the A/C was running while mold was in the house, the ductwork could be contaminated and now spreading spores through the house.

If you opt out ripping up that old ceramic tile you will prob have mold problems.

ceramic tile/grout is not an organic, so is not a food source. if you let it properly dry out that will not be a mold source. However, i highly recommend replacing, as the grout is porous, and since flood water is not "clean" water, then no telling what vile crap is in there.

Mold spores are in the air in South Louisiana almost all the time. Mold will only spread when the condition is favorable for it to grow. It doesn't grow on towels hanging on hooks in the bathroom, but take a wet towel put it in the ball and throw it in a closet and odd are, 2 weeks later there will be mold. With that being said, HVAC systems with poor insulation will have condensation which will allow fungal growth to grow. Mold isn't going to start growing anywhere there isn't sufficient moisture

I've read that growth efficiency is different with each type of mold, some prefer to grow in cold temperatures like your refrigerator. And when looking at the toxic spores, the release of their toxins are most efficient at different temperatures depending on the type of mold. Some release most toxins at 59°F.
So I'm not certain the warm summer months will advance the growth, but the humidity will if it's not controlled in the house.

Ideal humidity for a dwelling is between 50-60%. moisture will only be taken out of the air with a desiccant humidifier or with the HVAC unit running
