This is what I thought as well. If it was worn from people sitting back there it would be worn on the edge, not discolored in the middle like that.

Where is that person now? Dead
What did they see through the quarter window over the years? That rim coming through the window

And those waves never look the same after Laird is photographed on them. They turn into surfer floatills and jet ski foam.

It is the backseat of a ‘77 Plymouth Volare in a junkyard. What interested me was the wear on the vinyl armrest.
It looks like the window is broken and water soaked into the armrest

The Indian commuter trains. We've all seen them posted here but it's a marvel. People have to live in ways we can't begin to know.

I was in India on a business trip once and I read a newspaper article how there had been something like 1000-1200 deaths on the Mumbai railway system the first half of the year. If 1% of that number had died on the US in the time frame the entire system would have shut down.

This is a completely new life form found in the Pacific Ocean near Japan. It does not conform to any known domain of life. Only one specimen has been found. Japanese scientists have been searching 15 years for another.

More than 1,200 metres deep in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan lies an underwater volcano named Myojin Knoll. A team of Japanese biologists have been trawling these waters for more than a decade, searching for interesting life forms.

Last picture of the RMS Titanic afloat. 4/12/12 off Queenstown (now Cobh) taken by a Jesuit priest who had been a passenger on the ship from Southampton to Queenstown and disembarked in Ireland and took the picture.
Less than three days later the ship was on the bottom of the North Atlantic.
