Bristol TN is closer to Canada than it is to Memphis.

Maine is the closest US state to Africa.

It made the downtown (financial district) very pedestrian friendly and it basically blends in to the North End. That part of Boston is a fun place to visit.

frickING bullshite. This isn't the got damn 1920s. I've lived in the heart of the deep south my entire life and I have never, ever, EVER once heard anyone order a coke unless they actually wanted a red-labeled coca cola classic. Even when I was very young and would go out with my family, my old grandparents, who would've been born in the 19-teens, never did that. It's just one of thsoe things that keeps getting repeated so often enough that people actually believe it.

Most ppl say this in regards to the cola option. Example if I go to B Dubs I’ll ask for a coke and they’ll say, is Pepsi fine? This is because most places are standard with coke. If I want a Mountain Dew I’ll say Mountain Dew.

I already know that soda map is wrong. Ain’t a damn place anywhere in Georgia that doesn’t refer to all soda as Coke.

veryone has those little quirky things that make them irrationally angry, and the "coke" thing is by far one of mine. I can't tell you how many times in my life I've heard a joke, or seen a meme, or heard some passed down story abotu "heh...in the south, everything is a coke! You go to a restaruant and you order a coke, then they ask what kind!"

It's more like someone saying "they'll have cokes at the picnic" means "they'll have a variety of carbonated, sugary beverages, not just limited to literal Coke".

My Canuck relatives call it pop.
On the left coast a coke is usually a coke.
I go in for a Monster and always come out with a Red Bull.
Go figure.

This board hates pedestrians. Their IQ is too low to appreciate and understand pedestrian friendly urban areas.

Soda is taking over because all those in California fleeing what they voted for are moving to the South.

It's the internet and TV to a lesser degree. Plenty of kids in the South don't have accents or regional dialects anymore.

What if you include lakes in California? Like Lake Tahoe or the Salton Sea?
